Classes

Here at Academy of Performing Arts - Home of Lone Star Jazz, we believe that you deserve to try our classes before you buy. Consequently, we offer a free trial class. During your first week, you can try out each class for free. Example: If you are interested in Break Dancing, you can try our Break Dance class for one class at no charge; then, if you want to try our Ballet class, you can also try that class for one hour at no charge. We want you to know that you are getting your money's worth.

We offer a comprehensive drill team program touching on; pom-pon, jazz, high, kick, lyrical, military, prop, modern, tumbling, break dancing, and novelty. Come and try us free of charge before you make a financial commitment.

NEW CLASSES

Kick Technique and Conditioning--this is our most popular drill team prep class! It is especially beneficial when taken in conjunction with technique class such as Intermediate or Advanced Leaps and Turns.

INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED LEAPS AND TURNS

Technique I: Will work on single pirouettes, grande jeté , high kicks, chasse, toe touches, balance, passé, chaines, piques, axles, and short combinations of innovative choreography. 

Technique II: Will work on double pirouettes, switch leaps, high kicks, chasse combinations, toe touches, multiple chaines into double axles, multiple piques, axles, barrel turns, C jumps, and innovative choreography. 

Intermediate Leaps and Turns: Will work on triple pirouettes, switch leaps, high kicks, chasse combinations, multiple chaines into triple axles, combinations of piques and chaines into leaps, turning leaps, barrel turns, C jumps, fouettes, a la seconde turns, and innovative choreography. 

Advanced Leaps and Turns: This is an advanced class that is audition only. This 90 minute class works on skills learned in Intermediate Leaps and Turns, but increased difficulty such as quadruple and quintuplet pirouettes. Also includes Pilates/core work at the beginning of class.

Each student must have each skill mastered before they can be promoted to a new level of technique.
