Jo Anna Clark, Owner and Executive Director
JoAnna an active member of Texas Dance and Drill Team Educators Association, has studied dance since 1971 and has been teaching drill team alone for 19 of those years. She has also taught ballet, tap, jazz, funk, modern, twirling, aerobics and modeling in the Houston - Montgomery County area for over 24 years. She is currently the drill team director at Sacred Heart Catholic School as of 2006 as well as the drill team director at St. Anthonly of Padua as of 2007. She is a member of Montgomery County Association of Business Women and is honored as a member of Who's Who Among American Business Women. She was instrumental in founding the Magnolia High School Texas Star Drill Team in 1986 and was elected the first head officer. JoAnna has studied Dance Education at Tomball College, UT Arlington, & Sam Houston State University. She has completed VIRTUS (Protecting God's Children) and CPR Training. She further pursued her college education through scholarships won in The Miss Texas America and Miss Texas USA Pageants where she was a finalist and talent winner. Besides her interest in drill team, JoAnna also owns an upscale clothing boutique where she trains and wardrobes beauty pageant contestants. She is actively involved in church and volunteers for the American Cancer Society through the Montgomery County Cattle Barons. She is married and has two children.
Christine Bowden
Christine Bowden has been dancing for over 20 years in the areas of lyrical, hip-hop, clogging, flag, gymnastics, tap, jazz, ballet, and pointe. Christine is a May 2007 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a dance performance and choreography degree. At the collegiate level, Christine has performed in several student choreographed pieces, faculty works, and also was a member of the professional dance company at BGSU called “University Performing Dancers (UPD). Her modern works were adjudicated and shown in the senior spring dance concert in April 2007.
Currently, Christine is working on her Master of Fine Arts in Dance at Sam Houston State University. In 2007, she completed a six-week arts collaboration project with Living Word Christian Academy where she held the position as dance director for their summer program.
Lauren Cook
Lauren Cook, a native of Austin, Texas, started dancing at the age of two. She danced at Backstage Dance Studio in Austin for ten years and served as an instructor and assistant. She also taught at Step by Step School of dance from 2003 to 2006. Lauren was on her high school drill team for two years and was co-captain her senior year. She received in Bachelor of Arts degree in dance in 2006, where she was on the Dean’s List every semester. She was also involved in Chi Tau Epsilon dance honor society, the SHSU Dance Company, and Alpha Chi Honor Society. She was also a member of the Kista Tucker Dance Company from 2005-2007. Currently, Lauren is a dance and drill team instructor at Huntsville High School.
Shannon Donnelly
Shannon has been dancing since she was three years. old. She is a junior at The Woodlands High School and also a Varsity Highstepper. Shannon has worked for Lone Star Jazz since 2006. She still currently dances at Boni's Dance Studio and has performed in many productions for Boni's.
Tamara Heilman
Tamara Heilman is currently a senior at Sam Houston State University and has been dancing for the last eleven years. She graduated with an Associate of Arts degree from Cottey College in 2005, where she performed and choreographed with the Cottey Repertory Dance Company. She also attended the Snowy Range Summer Dance Festival in 2004 on full scholarship. Tamara has been teaching dance throughout the last five years at the Osage Prairie YMCA (Nevada, Missouri) and the Superior Elks Summer Dance Program (Superior, Nebraska), which she founded and served as head instructor. She is a member of Chi Tau Epsilon dance honor society and Golden Key honor society. Tamara plans to graduate from SHSU in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in dance.
Emily Inglet
Emily is an eleven year staff member of Lone Star Jazz. She was born and raised in Willis, Texas and has studied dance for the past 24 years. Emily graduated from Willis High School where she was a four year member and head officer of the Willis High School Sweethearts. Emily continued her school and dance education at Kilgore College where she was a member of the Kilgore College Rangerettes, then went on to graduate from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Academic Studies and Education with a minor in mathematics. After graduating, Emily became an elementary teacher and assistant drill team director for Willis High School. She also directed the Drew Dance team at Drew Intermediate School in Crosby, Texas. Emily is a member of both the Texas Dance Educators Association and the Association of Texas Professional Educators. In addition to teaching, Emily is a current staff member for Showtime International. In the past eleven years, Emily has directed and coached many award winning teams, ensembles, and soloists. Teams under her direction have received numerous awards including Best in Class, Gussie Nell Davis Award of Excellence, Choreography, Technique, Top Team, and Grand Champion. Emily currently teaches third grade for Conroe ISD at Oak Ridge Elementary.
Tracy Kegel
Tracy Kegel started her dance career 20 years ago when she joined a junior drill team. She later became an officer for the award winning Kingwood Fillies. She has also studied with the Houston Metropolitan of Dance. Through the years she has studied ballet, jazz, lyrical, and modern dance. Tracy is proud to have received here Bachelor of Education degree from Univeristy of Texas, and plans to graduate from Sam Houston State University this May with a Masters in Education Administration. Tracy is currently a fourth grade language arts teacher at Ford Elementary School.
Deborah Barroso--Office Manager
Debbie is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Bachelors degree in Education and Kinesiology. She is employed full time with Klein I.S.D. and has been working with us for four seasons. Additionally Debbie has studied all forms of dance in college and enjoys encouraging our dancers. She is married, has 2 children and lives in The Woodlands.
