Testimonials

"We have been privileged to be a part of the Lone Star Jazz Family since 2002.  My oldest daughter started out in the fourth grade as a “beginner” drill team dancer.  With the encouragement, training, and positive reinforcement provided by Lone Star Jazz, she has progressed to become a devoted team member, an award-winning soloist, and has made both her junior high and high school drill teams.  She has developed as a dancer, a leader, a teacher, and a young woman.  Lone Star Jazz has provided opportunities for her that no other dance team could have given her.  As she approaches her 14th birthday, looking back to when she started at age nine, I am amazed at her development, and grateful for the incredible role that Lone Star Jazz has played in her growth as a young woman and a dancer.

My younger daughter also dances at Lone Star Jazz.  She began her Lone Star career at age seven, in the second grade.  She has thrived under the instruction of excellent, caring, teachers, and incredibly talented choreographers.  These caring individuals have helped her develop her own talents, and at age 11 she continues to develop and grow in ways that would not be possible without the encouragement and support of the Lone Star Jazz staff.  She too has developed into a confident dancer, an award-winning soloist, and a devoted team member.

Lone Star Jazz is more than just a business entity.  Jo Anna and her staff care about each individual dancer that comes through their door.  All dancers are special to them – every dancer is important.  Every dancer is welcomed as part of the Lone Star family.  Whether your child does one dance or five; whether your child is a beginner or advanced; all dancers come to Lone Star as equal family members.  They will be part of the team, part of the whole.  Important, necessary, needed.

Having visited several other dance studios, and tried classes at other studios, I feel like my daughters have an advantage at Lone Star Jazz.  I don’t think we could find more caring teachers, or a more positive environment than Lone Star provides.  That is why my girls have been at Lone Star for 5 years and why we will continue to be at Lone Star Jazz."

Dr. Mary Rosenberg"My two daughters joined LSJ in August, 2006 shortly after their previous dance studio closed unexpectedly. LSJ tryouts had been completed several months before, but my daughters were greeted warmly and given every opportunity to participate in competition dances. Their skill level has significantly improved as has their confidence. Our experience with staff, parents and students has been very positive and welcoming. My girls really enjoy the team and look forward to many more years of dance."

dance studio"Lone Star Jazz is a fantastic place to dance. The staff is very friendly and welcoming as well as professional and helpful. Our girls have enjoyed being part of this team because not only are they able to participate in an activity they love, but they have made good friends while doing so. As a parent, I saw that my daughters had such a positive experience last year as part of the team. They will continue on because they loved it that much!

Thanks so much for letting us be a part of LSJ!"

dance studio"Miss Jo Anna,
I can't begin to tell you how much you mean to me as a dance director. You are an individual who expects the very best from all of us and you teach us how to deliver our best. Besides that, you made achieving and believing in ourselves and exciting opportunity. Thanks for all of your patience and enthusiasm. You really made dancing a fun adventure.  You taught us all to appreciate neatness and how to pay attention to details. You will never know how much your guidance has helped us.  I want to tell you that you have made a big difference in our lives."

dance studio "In just two years, my daughter's skill level and confidence has improved significantly. I have received  great compliments from staff, parents, and team members about my daughter. It is because of the professionalism, helpfulness, and friendly staff that has been possible. The parents here at LSJ have been great as well, welcoming us and helping my wife at competitions. 2007 was our first year--all of it was new to us but the staff and parents gave my wife a helping hand at competitions. Thanks to everyone, it has been a great experience. My daughter has made good friends and is thankful for the help the LSJ has given her. It is that team effort that the staff and parents have given us that will keep us returning. We look forward for more years."

dance studio "The things about Lone Star Jazz that really made a difference to me     and to (my daughter) Jacqueline were:

* You fit Jacqueline into an appropriate group for her age and skill level in the middle of the school year and 6 weeks before the first competition.  This shows tremendous flexibility in management and teaching staff.

* The teachers are very well qualified and want to be there.  When the teachers have degrees in dance education it makes such a difference.

* Classes are divided into choreography and technique.  This is valuable since the teachers can concentrate on getting the team to perfect the dance together. Individual skills needs can be addressed in the technique classes.  This is a very efficient use of teacher and student time.

* Private lessons were available when requested and easy to schedule.

* There is a wide variety of styles (jazz, hip-hop, pom, lyrical, etc.) to choose from.

* There is a team spirit among the parents and among the girls on the teams.  The parents are very supportive of all the girls and helpful to new parents."
